The classic tale of a city girl who is desperately trying to live a rustic life but with my own twist. I may not have a clue what I am doing; but with the help of my friends, my love of all things homegrown, my own signature spin on fashion, my love of PINK, and my sweet sidekick George, I just might figure it out!

Why the name Elle Backwoods?

I got this fabulous nickname after my freshman year of college. My friends noticed that I had no idea how to hunt, fish, or farm, but had a knack for being thrifty, color coordinating, and perfectly pink! From these characteristics, my dear friends formed the name Elle Backwoods- the fashion, the love of agriculture, the PINK! After all, what girl wouldn’t want a pink fishing rod that matches her bed set perfectly???

Why Pink?

Pigs, Where it all started. Their sweet disposition, the way they live life like flabby puppy dogs, and the way they relieve my stress. What is not to love?! In high school, I was a cheerleader- obvi! Showing pigs in FFA was my outlet, my solace from a life of uneasiness. I was bullied, belittled, and a stressed out, overworked girl. all of my troubles melted away every time I walked into that hog barn and heard the cute grunt of my precious ham hocks. I could spend hours with them, working them, talking to them, loving on them; They are these goofy little floppy beings that are so relieving, and they are PINK! My love of pigs, particularly Hampshires, formed this love of the preppy, pretty, pop of color called pink.
